Full Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport. Transfer to your hotel on the outskirts of Arusha

He will accompany you to the airport VIP lounge (both services subject to extra charge) where you will be assisted in completing all entry formalities and escorted outside. There you will be met by our one of our professional guides who will drive you to Siringit Villa for your first night in Arusha.

On the Kilimanjaro Golf and Wildlife Estate, Siringit is a luxurious 6-bedroom villa which will be booked for your private and exclusive use. This spacious and elegant property which overlooks the 5th fairway is intended to give friends and families a unique experience that cannot be rivalled in Arusha. Your dinner will be prepared for you by Axel Janssens, a Belgian national who is one of the top chefs in Tanzania.

Overnight at Siringit Villa on an all-inclusive basis (dinner, breakfast, picnic lunch, Wi-Fi, private & exclusive use of the Villa).

Day 2 – After breakfast, depart for Arusha National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Arusha National Park – which is approximately half an hour’s distance from the villa – for the first exciting game viewing experience of your Safari. This park is remarkable for its range of habitats; a miniature volcanic crater, highland rain forest, acacia woodland and a string of crater lakes as well as for the range of game animals and birds which can be found there. The park is often referred to as the ‘gem’ of the Northern Safari circuit, this being due in part to its relatively small size. Guests who would like to stretch their legs after their long flights to Tanzania may do so by going on a small “foot Safari” in the company of a park ranger (subject to an extra charge).

In the evening, you will be served sundowner cocktails around an open fire in the villa gardens before sitting down for a sumptuous evening meal.

Overnight at Siringit Villa on an all-inclusive basis (dinner, breakfast, picnic lunch, Wi-Fi, private & exclusive use of the Villa).

Day 3 – After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater

Today you will depart Siringit Villa driving through the busy town of Arusha and into open Maasai country as you make your way to the world famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will visit Lake Manyara National Park which is at the foot of the Great Rift Valley wall close by the small town of Mto-wa-Mbuu. Upon entering the park, you will pass through a small tropical forest where you are guaranteed to see lots of baboons, many nurturing small families. Once through the forest you should start looking out for impala, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, zebra, hippo, monitor lizards and tree climbing lions for which the park is famous. Lake Manyara National Park also enjoys a very good reputation for its prolific birdlife.

After enjoying a picnic lunch followed by another game drive, you will leave the park and the Rift Valley floor in order to follow the winding road which climbs all the way to the Ngorongoro highlands. Here you will drive through some of the most beautiful countryside to be seen anywhere on the Northern Safari circuit.

Upon entering the conservation area, you will make your way to the crater rim where your private camp and crew will be waiting to bid you a warm welcome.

Intimate Camps are staffed by private chefs, private butlers and private tent attendants all of whom are on call to cater to your every need. Because our camps are for your own private use only, we are able to tailor the services we provide to your specific requirements. (www.intimate-places.com/portfolio-item/intimate-camps/)

Day 4 – Descend into the world famous Ngorongoro Crater

The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is the deep, volcanic crater, the largest un-flooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20 kilometers across, 600 metres deep and 300 square kilometers in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breath-taking natural wonder. Today you will descend into the crater and explore the exquisite natural surroundings as well as all of the wildlife to be found there.

Overnight in your Intimate Camp on an all-inclusive basis (cocktails and bitings beside the camp fire, dinner, breakfast, lunch, beverages, laundry).

Day 5 – Depart for the Serengeti National Park

This morning you will bid farewell to your camp crew who you will re-join at a later stage on your Safari and depart to Manyara Airstrip for your flight into the Serengeti National Park. You will be flown to Lobo Airstrip in the Northern part of the Serengeti National Park where you will be met by one of our professional guides who will proceed to give you your first glimpse of the magnificent Serengeti. Lunch will take the form of a hamper which will be served to you in the park and towards the late afternoon you will arrive at Buffalo Luxury Camp where you will be escorted to the private accommodation wing of the property.

Overnight at Buffalo Luxury Camp on an all-inclusive basis (dinner, breakfast, lunch, beverages, laundry, Wi-Fi).

Day 6 – Full day of activities in the Buffalo Luxury Camp concession

After breakfast, you will be briefed on all of the activities which will be available to you during the course of the day. For the morning hours, you will be escorted on an exciting game walk accompanied one of our professional guides together with a Maasai warrior. During the course of this walk, you will be taught to track and identify the different species of fauna. You will also spoor track the big five with the help of an armed ranger and are bound to cross paths with some African plains game. Look out for the 200 or so species of birds which are known to inhabit the area.

In the afternoon you will visit the very authentic Maasai village of Ololosokwan which is the Maasai name for ‘buffalo.’ The village was formed in 1960 by the Maasai tribesmen and women who were removed from the nearby Serengeti plains at the time of the creation of the Serengeti National Park. Because of the villages remote location, you will be able to enjoy a unique insight into the Maasai way of life and bask in their unique culture.

In the evening you will enjoy sundowner cocktails perched on a hilltop overlooking the Serengeti National Park with a magnificent African sunset before you followed by a Boma dinner where traditional Swahili food will be cooked for you under the starlit African night sky. After dinner, enjoy a night game drive in the camps open game viewing vehicle during which you will also be able to spot the nocturnal animals which inhabit the area surrounding the camp.

Overnight at Buffalo Luxury Camp on an all-inclusive basis (dinner, breakfast, lunch, beverages, laundry, Wi-Fi).

Day 7 – Depart in search of the Great Wildebeest Migration

Whilst you were enjoying all of the comforts of Buffalo Luxury Camp, your crew from Ngorongoro will have dismantled your camp, transported it to the Serengeti and will have set it up as before in an area especially selected for you close to the location of the Great Wildebeest Migration. Their work completed, they will be waiting to welcome you back “home.”

You will depart Buffalo Luxury Camp after breakfast and will enjoy a full day’s game drive as you make your way to your next camp. Depending upon the time of year, you will either head in a Southerly direction towards the Ndutu Plains or in a Northerly direction towards to Mara River or any point in between. The precise movement of the wildebeest is dictated by rainfall and this in turn is dictated by mother nature. Because of the mobility of your camp we can pretty much guarantee to get you as close to the action as possible.

Overnight in your Intimate Camp on an all-inclusive basis (cocktails and bitings beside the camp fire, dinner, breakfast, lunch, beverages, laundry).

Day 8 – Experience the Great Wildebeest Migration

Every year over a million wildebeest and zebra trek from Northern Serengeti where they breed to Southern Serengeti to give birth before heading back North again. Given the sheer number of animals involved, it is understandable that predators are plentiful. After an early breakfast, you will leave camp and catch the wildebeest during the first light of day. Today will be spent enjoying one of the World’s most spectacular natural events. During the months of July till November, you will also be able to enjoy the incredible river crossings in which the wildebeest are preyed upon by crocodiles. And during the months of December till March you will be able to witness first hand the calving season in which tens of thousands of baby wildebeest are born. You will be served a ‘bush’ lunch in a remote location surrounded by the beauty of the park and all that it has to offer.

Overnight in your Intimate Camp on an all-inclusive basis (cocktails and bitings beside the camp fire, dinner, breakfast, lunch, beverages, laundry).

Day 9 – Balloon Safari adventure followed by a game drive

Today you will leave camp before dawn and board a hot air balloon for an adventure of a lifetime (subject to an additional charge).  Floating across the savannah will allow you a unique perspective as well as unique photographic opportunities of the wildlife below you. After a soft landing, you will be met with Champagne and a gourmet breakfast after which you will be able to enjoy a game drive through the Serengeti National Park.

Overnight in your Intimate Camp on an all-inclusive basis (cocktails and bitings beside the camp fire, dinner, breakfast, lunch, beverages, laundry).

Day 10 – Return to Arusha

After breakfast in camp, say a final farewell to your crew and transfer to the nearest airstrip for your scheduled flight to Arusha where you will be met by our transfer driver on arrival. If you wish to do some shopping for gifts we recommend a stop at Shanga for beautifully hand crafted items, which include hand blown glass, weaving, beadwork and metal work.  All items sold at Shanga are made by the physically disabled who are proud to have you shown around their workshop adjacent to the shop.  Drive to Siringit Villa for use of day rooms and the swimming pool before transferring to the airport for your onward flight home.
