Day 3 – Explore the area around Lake Natron

Today you will explore the area around the lake. Activities here focus mainly on walking. You can walk across the sunbaked landscape to the shores of the lake which is home to large populations of flamingo. Another walk through a shady gorge between steep cliffs will take you to the Engero Sero Waterfall with its beautiful natural swimming pool surrounded by steep rock walls. Here you can enjoy a refreshing swim at the bottom of the falls. All the while there are magnificent views to be had of Oldoinyo Lengai – whose name means “mountain of God” in the Maasai language – the smoking top of which serves as a reminder that this is still an active volcano

Overnight in your Intimate Camp on an all-inclusive basis (dinner, breakfast, lunch, beverages, laundry).

Day 4 – After breakfast, depart for Buffalo Luxury Camp

Your Safari car will make its way up the great rift valley wall on the road to Wasso, Soit Sambu and Ololosokwan arriving at Buffalo Luxury Camp in time for Tea. Along the way you will witness dramatic landscapes and see an array of African plains game.

You will also spoor track the big five with the guidance of an armed ranger and are bound to cross paths with African plains game. Look out for the 200 or so species of birds which also inhabit the area.

After lunch you will visit the nearby village of Ololosokwan. Ololosokwan is a Maasai name meaning a buffalo and the village was formed in the 1960’s by the tribesmen and women who were moved from the Serengeti plains. Because of the village’s remote location, you will be able to enjoy a unique insight into the Maasai way of life and bask in their culture.

In the evening you will enjoy sundowner cocktails perched on a hilltop overlooking the Serengeti National Park with a magnificent African sunset before you followed by a Boma dinner where traditional Swahili food will be cooked on an open fire while you sit around a campfire.

After dinner, enjoy a night game drive in the camps open game viewing vehicle during which you will also be able to spot the nocturnal animals which inhabit the area surrounding the camp.

Overnight at Buffalo Luxury Camp on an all-inclusive basis (dinner, breakfast, lunch, beverages, laundry, Wi-Fi, walk, bush dinner, night game drive).

Day 7 – After breakfast, depart for the Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will be driven to the Serengeti National Park which is located only 5 kilometres from the camp. Your game drive starts the moment you pass through the gate and continues until you reach your next destination. ‘Camp Zebra’ is named after the Zebra which lead the Wildebeest during their world famous annual migration. Like the animal it is named after, ‘Camp Zebra’ leads the Wildebeest to the Northern part of the Serengeti National Park from July, till November and to the Southern part from December till March each year

Overnight in Camp Zebra on an all-inclusive basis (dinner, breakfast, lunch, beverages, laundry).

Day 9 – After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Whilst you were busy enjoying the creature comforts of Buffalo Luxury Camp and Camp Zebra, your crew from Lake Natron will have broken camp, transported it to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and will have set up ready to welcome you “home” on the crater rim. Today you will be driven from the Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro enjoying a game drive on the way and stopping at Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world.

Overnight in your ‘Intimate Places’ camp on an all-inclusive basis (dinner, breakfast, lunch, beverages, laundry).
