With spacious and comfortable accommodation set in special campsites booked exclusively for our guests, we are able to provide the ultimate safari experience.
Whether you are a couple looking for a romantic bush experience, a family wishing to share one of life’s truly unique experiences together or a group of friends wanting to take time out in your very own special space then we will be delighted to turn your dreams into reality.
Locations
Because Intimate Places Camping is a truly tailor made experience, we can set up a private and exclusive camp almost anywhere you wish. From the more usual special campsites in Tarangire National Park, Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park to more remote areas such as the lakes of Eyasi or Natron, provided that the area you would like to explore can be reached by 4 wheel drive vehicle then we can accommodate you there in the lap of luxury.
Accommodation
Each sleeping tent consists of a bedroom measuring 4 metres (13 feet) by 3 ½ metres (11 ½ feet), a dressing area measuring 4 metres (13 feet) by 1 metre (3 ½ feet) and a separate shower and toilet each measuring 2 metres (6 ½ feet) by 1 metre (3 ½ feet).
The dressing area, shower and toilet are all “open air” so as to heighten the experience of living as one with your surroundings. Despite being able to enjoy some breathtaking views as you prepare yourself for the day ahead, privacy is still assured due to the clever design of our tents.
And a cover made from ‘insect proof’ netting ensures that the bathroom and dressing room areas are a sealed unit with the sleeping area so as to keep out unwelcome visitors.
Rest assured that in the unlikely event that it rains during your stay with us, then the main tent flysheet can easily be extended by our camp crew so as to ensure that all of the tent remains dry at all times.
As an added convenience, each tent is provided with enough power for lighting as well as for charging mobile telephones, cameras and laptop computers. This power is made available through a system of inverters and batteries which are charged by the camp's generator whist you are out on game drives.
Facilities
We have a number of different ‘mess’ tents of different dimensions which are used according to the size of family or group to be accommodated. The smallest of these is for 2 persons only whereas the largest will accommodate up to 16 people with ease. Our ‘mess’ tents are designed to provide comfortable dining and recreation for those moments when you are not out and about exploring the area and viewing the wildlife and birdlife.
Evenings are spent around the all important camp fire exchanging stories about the day’s events and making plans for the days ahead.
Each camp has a well stocked bar which serves a selection of spirits, wines, beers and minerals, the cost of which is included in our accommodation rates.
Our friendly camp staff will also be delighted to assist you with your laundry requirements, also without extra charge.
Activities
Intimate Places Camping is a wholly owned subsidiary of Intimate Places Ltd. As such, the services we offer are limited to the provision of accommodation, food and drinks. We do not therefore offer game drives and other excursions which will need to be planned in conjunction with your Tour Operator. We will be delighted to offer suggestions as to possible activities based on the area you book if requested to do so.
